Home office checklist
A quick guide to organizing your home desk so that it's calmer, clearer, and easier to focus on - without a perfect "Pinterest" setup.
Workbench base
- The chair is adjusted so that your knees are approximately at 90°
- Screen at eye level (without constantly lowering the head)
- Mouse pad and/or wrist rest (if you like)
- One small tray/container for small items (keys, pens, USB)
Light & eye fatigue
- The lamp behind the monitor or on the side, not directly in the eyes
- No strong overhead light that creates a glare on the screen
- Night mode / blue light filter in the late hours
- Eye break every 45–60 minutes (look out the window)
Cables & mini chaos
- One multi-socket hidden under or on the side of the table
- 2-3 velcro strips or ties to group the cables
- Charger cable holder (so it doesn't hang from the table all the time)
- Small “inbox” zone – folder/shelf for papers and receipts
Micro habits for focus
- Phone on “Do Not Disturb” during deep work
- 3-5 tasks for the day instead of an endless list
- A glass of water or coffee always in the same place on the table
- Mini closing ritual – 3 minutes to set the table
